Saucery works. At the intersection of culinary practice and the philosophy of form, the studio examines the culinary as a procedure of sensuous and playful form-making. Founded by Maximilian Schuch and Felix Clausberg, Saucery Works produces publications, exhibitions and collaborations with partners across culture, academia and industry.

Maximilian Schuch
Maximilian Schuch works between painting, sculpture, and installation. For him, form construction is a culinary process, a synaesthetic agglutination or aggregation of qualities — individual forms are like dishes. This approach has led to collaborations at the intersection of sensory perception, aesthetics, and material innovation, including with Prof. Charles Spence, Director of the Crossmodal Research Laboratory at the University of Oxford. He completed an MA Writing and a Graduate Diploma: Art & Design at the Royal College of Art, London, as well as a BA Fine Arts at the HfbK Hamburg and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. He lives and works in Frankfurt.

Felix Clausberg
Felix Clausberg studied Chinese Studies and Philosophy in Tübingen, Paris, Taipei, London, and Beijing. His doctoral thesis at the University of Tübingen — supported, among others, by a Fulbright fellowship at Texas Tech University's Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism and by Peking University's China Studies Program — examines physiognomic morphogenesis in early Chinese and Western art, myth, and philosophy. He is currently preparing it for publication, alongside essays on physiognomic and culinary thought in early Chinese and classical texts.
